Delivered at Place UnloadedDPU
When the goods are unloaded at the named place and placed at the buyer's disposal.
DPU (Delivered at Place Unloaded) is an Incoterms® 2020 rule for any mode of transport, in group D. The seller delivers the goods, and bears all cost and risk, until they have been unloaded at the named place of destination and placed at the buyer's disposal.
DPU is the only Incoterms rule under which the seller is responsible for unloading at destination. Risk transfers after unloading. The seller arranges and pays the carriage and the unloading; the rule does not require insurance. The buyer is responsible for import clearance and duties. DPU replaced the former DAT (Delivered at Terminal) rule and applies to any place, not only a terminal.
DPU differs from DAP only in the unloading: under DAP risk passes before unloading and the buyer unloads, whereas under DPU the seller unloads and risk passes afterwards.
